Are you a Dutch citizen and will you be staying in The Hague for longer than 4 months? Then you need to register in the Municipal Personal Records Database (GBA). This is required by law.
Dutch citizens coming from abroad (including Aruba, Curaçao and Sint-Maarten and the municipalities of Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius).
Documents from certain countries must be legalised or provided with an apostille stamp. More information on this topic is available on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Documents from abroad which are not written in Dutch, French, German or English must be translated into Dutch by a sworn translator in the Netherlands.
The municipality will verify the authenticity of your identity documents.
This service is provided free of charge.
Your GBA registration will be processed within 4 weeks.
To register, visit the Immigration Office at Stadhoudersplantsoen 24 in person. Opening hours are 8.00 to 14.00 hrs. Monday to Friday.
