- 23 June 2015
The free Plein Open pop music festival will celebrate its 20th edition on Saturday, 25 July with a line-up of underground and alternative rock bands.
The festival offers a continuous programme alternating between 2 back-to-back stages on the Spuiplein and Turfmarkt. Non-stop music and an intimate ‘village’ feeling.
This year’s theme is ‘Plein Open Goes Bazart’, which pays homage to the Bazart music club on the Loosduinsekade, up until 2014 was a stage for rock bands.
Plein Open line-up
The Plein Open festival will this year get a strong Bazart Presents makeover with loud guitar noise ranging from psychedelica to the heavier experimental electro.
Fans of guitar music can eat their hearts out at the Bazart Stage featuring the Rotterdam-based new wave/punk rock band Rats on Rafts, Mary Fields, Iconoclast, The Blues Junkies, Droppings, Nisse Bodil, Skellot, The Dawn Patrol and local band Monomyth.
On the other side of the Bazart Stage local DJ and producer Martijn Verlinden will have his own Antilounge Stage. This stage will feature electronic acts like Alkaloid, Bimbo Electrico, Raw Bros, Piouxsie, Sumi, Kazil, Nour and Ghost Kwini.
Plein Open Goes Bazart will be held from 13.00 to 22.30 hrs. on Saturday, 25 July 2015 on the Spuiplein. The festival is free of charge.
