What is it?

Would you like to hold a demonstration? You will need to annouce this in writing to the mayor. You can do this by sending a fax or email to Operational Affairs at Politie Haaglanden.

What are the conditions?

You will need to announce a demonstration at least four working days in advance. You can send a fax to (070) 424 28 14 or an email to operationelezaken@haaglanden.politie.nl.

Rules

The mayor can enforce rules to which you will need to adhere. He can even prohibit the demonstration. The rules or prohibition may not have anything to do with the reason you are demonstrating. The mayor can, for example, enforce a specific marching route.

  • names, address, telephone number and fax number (if applicable) of the person holding the demonstration
  • the goal of the demonstration
  • the accessories you will be using in your demonstration (flags, banners, music etc.)
  • the date, starting and ending time of the demonstration
  • the place where you will start and end the marching route (only applicable if you will be holding a march)
  • the number of participants
  • the way the participants will be taking part in the demonstration (for example, walking or with bicycles or cars)
  • the measures you will be taking to ensure the demonstration is conducted in an orderly fashion
