Hockey clubs

Field hockey is the second most popular sport in the Netherlands after football. The Netherlands women's national field hockey team is the most successful team in World Cup history, having won the title six times. The Dutch male hockey team has won the world cup three times and Olympic gold on two occasions. Several Dutch hockey league clubs have won the European Cup.

Haagsche Countryclub Groen-Geel

Groen Geel was founded in 1932 and now has approximately 950 members. With 54 senior teams Groen Geel is the largest hockey club in The Hague region. Groen Geel is known as the "gezelligste" club in the Netherlands. The club also has a golf (650 members) and cricket (50 members) division and can be found at Sportpark De Roggewoning off the Landscheidingsweg on the border between The Hague and Wassenaar.

HBS-Craeyenhout

HBS-Craeyenhout was founded in 1893 and is located near the Vogelwijk on the Daal en Bergselaan in The Hague. The club offers football (boys only), hockey (girls only) and cricket for both youth players and senior players.

HOC Gazellen Combinatie (HGC)

HGC came into existence following a 1951 merger between HOC (founded in 1906) and GHC and in 2006 it celebrated its 100-year anniversary. HGC has developed into a prominent club in the region and in the Netherlands and offers a well-organised training programme for children as of the age of 6 years. It is located at Sportpark De Roggewoning off the Landscheidingsweg on the border between The Hague and Wassenaar.

Haagsche Delftsche Mixed (HDM)

HDM was founded in 1908 as an initiative of a number of students in Delft and their friends in The Hague to start playing hockey together. With its own sport hall, HDM has the largest number of indoor hockey teams in the Netherlands. HDM is located in Sportcomplex Groenendaal on the Theo Mann Bouwmeesterpad in Benoordenhout.

H.H. & C.C. HDS

The Hockey- en Cricket Club HDS has 500 members and is located in the south of The Hague on the Madesteinweg. The number of youth members is growing quickly and the HDS hockey grounds are being expanded.

HC Klein Zwitserland

With 1600 members Klein Zwitserland is the tenth largest hockey club in the Netherlands and was formally set up in 1908. Many famous names in the hockey sport have played at Klein Zwitserland. The club has 1,000 youth members and 600 senior members and also offers lawn bowls. It is located on the Klatteweg in the Klein Zwitserland Sportpark.
