Who dares to enter the Prison Gate at night? The Prison Gate Museum will organise a night-time Halloween tour of the museum in English on Saturday, 1 November.
During this special spooky Halloween night the dead will come back to life! The doors to the prison will creak open every hour as visitors muster the courage to cross the threshold of this century-old building where both rich and poor prisoners were held, tortured and sometimes even met their fateful death.
Museum guides will tell the story behind this sinister building as well as the story of Halloween and you will be led up and down small corridors and staircases to see the prison cells, torture instruments and torture chamber where they were all put to use.
The night tours depart every hour and last 1.5 hours. The tours through the Prison Gate are not suitable for children under the age of 13.
A special English tour specially designed for members of the international community and their children will start at 22.00 hrs. There will also be Dutch tours at 20.00, 21.00 and 23.00 hrs.
Tickets cost € 15.00 per person in advance and € 17.50 at the door. Tickets are on sale as of 1 October from the ticket office of the Prison Gate.
