Promoting tourism with Hangzhou

During the World Expo Den Haag Marketing (The Hague Convention & Visitors Bureau) and the Tourist Information Office (VVV) signed a cooperation agreement  with Hangzhou, a city 180 kilometres from Shanghai with a population of about 4 million. Both The Hague and Hangzhou have agreed to promote each other’s cities as tourist destinations.

The Chinese consider Hangzhou one of the most beautiful cities in China. Hangzhou is one of the most renowned and prosperous cities of China for much of the last 1,000 years thanks to its beautiful natural scenery and its long history as the residence of a number of ancient Chinese dynasties.
