Residents and businesses in The Hague can pick up small amounts of road salt for free as of 28 November.
The Hague’s snow removal service will be on call 24 hours a day from 28 November to 1 March 2012 to treat slippery roads and bicycle paths due to ice or snow. Unfortunately the municipality is unable to respond to sanding requests.

You do not need an Afvalpas in order to pick up road salt. Make sure to take a plastic bag or bucket along. You can then fill the bag or bucket with sand yourself.
