European Patent Office (EPO)

The EPO provides a central one stop-service to inventors, researchers and companies in Europe.

Through the EPO they can obtain patent protection in up to 38 European states by filing a single application. With five seats in four countries the EPO has over 6,500 employees representing 30 different nationalities.

The location in Rijswijk is by far the largest international organisation in the Netherlands and one of the region’s major employers.
