Feel like spending a day at the beach? Scheveningen and Kijkduin are the perfect places to go in all four seasons.

Beach and Sea

Dogs on the beach

During the summer months dogs are not allowed on the beaches of Scheveningen and Kijkduin. From 15 May till 1 October you can walk your dog north of access point 47 – beyond the Carlton Beach Hotel – or south of access point 36 (near Westduinpark) between Scheveningen Harbour and Kijkduin. Outside the summer period dogs are allowed on the beach without a leash and dog owners are obliged to clean up after them.

Nude beaches

You can find the nude beaches in Kijkduin and Scheveningen near:

  • Strandslag Kijkduin, access point 108, in the direction of Monster;
  • Entrance to the Laan van Poot, between access point 104 and 105;
  • Between the Zwarte Pad and Meijendelse Slag, between access point 96, 5 and 98.

Barbecuing

Barbecuing and campfires on the beach are prohibited. Many beach pavilions have their own grilling equipment.

Wheelchairs and rollators on the beach

At the Biesieklette outlets in Kijkduin (Deltaplein) and Scheveningen (near the Carlton Beach Hotel) you can rent the so-called Jutter, a recreational wheelchair with special balloon tires, which makes the beach accessible to everyone. The construction of the wheelchair is light but strong and sturdy. The chair is suitable for both children and adults.

You can also try out a beach rollator, a wheeled walker designed for use in the sand, for free this summer at Biesieklette.

For more information, you can call Biesieklette  tel. 070 - 394 22 11.
