What is it?

Is there someone registered at your address who no longer lives there? You can request an address investigation into this occupant from the Department of Public Service. The municipality checks whether anyone is living at the address other than the people registered in the Municipal Personal Records Database (GBA).

What are the conditions?

You are the owner, tenant or co-occupant of the domicile.

What will I need?

  • Valid identification.
  • Rental contract.
  • Part of the purchase deed, in any case the first 3 pages and the last page.

The municipality will verify the authenticity of your identity documents.

Please note: If you are sending the request in writing or by e-mail, make legible copies or scans of the documents and send these along as an enclosure. Otherwise the municipality will not handle your request.

What does it cost?

This service is free of charge. If you would like a receipt, please include this in your request.

How long will it take?

An address investigation takes a maximum of 10 weeks.
