Households in Leidschenveen, Scheveningen and Loosduinen are getting their own paper container in order to dispose of their old paper. Old newspapers, advertising leaflets, empty egg cartons – all of it can go in the blue container. This makes it easier for residents to separate their household waste.
These blue containers can hold up to 20 kilograms of paper. The containers are emptied once a month by the rubbish collection. For the collection dates in your neighborhood, please refer to the household waste calendar.
Old newspapers, advertising leaflets and empty egg cartons are all allowed in the paper bin. But there are other sorts of paper which do not belong in the recycling bin. Here you can view the complete list of what is and is not allowed.
So far households in Leidschenveen, Scheveningen and Loosduinen have all received a blue container. If the project is extended to your neighbourhood, you will be notified by post.
If your not sure you'd like to have your own paper container, why not just give it a try for a month? If after a month you no longer wish to use the blue paper container, you can arrange for the municipality to pick it up.
