The Dutch medallists will be in The Hague on Wednesday, 3 March 2010 where they will be celebrated and honoured for their achievements during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Following a reception by the Queen at Huis ten Bosch, the athletes will then parade festively through the city. Members of the public can cheer the winning athletes along the route and watch as they show off their medals.
The medal winners will travel from the Bezuidenhoutseweg to the Binnenhof in an open bus accompanied by music. The athletes will then proceed to the Plein and continue to the Ridderzaal.
Spectators will get the chance to warmly welcome and cheer their Olympic heroes from special open stands at the Binnenhof. But beware, once these sections are full, nobody else will be allowed to sit there due to security reasons. Therefore it’s important to arrive early.
All residents of homes along the parade route are strongly recommended to display the Dutch flag. In addition, everybody from The Hague is warmly invited to cheer the athletes on the route and at the Binnenhof.
