Deputy Mayor Rabin Baldewsingh is The Hague's alderman for Public Health, Sustainability, Media and Municipal Organisation as well as the Escamp district.
Rabin S. Baldewsingh was born in 1962 in Suriname, a former Dutch colony in South America. He arrived in the Netherlands in 1975 and moved to The Hague in 1980. He studied English Language and Culture at Leiden University.
Rabin has been a member of the Dutch Labour Party (Partij van de Arbeid) since 1986 and served as a member of The Hague Municipal Council from 1998-2006. From April 2006 to May 2010 he was The Hague's alderman for Citizenship, Decentralisation, Liveability and Media.
Rabin is married.
