The population of The Hague has grown substantially over the past 2 years.
Between 1 January 2009 and 1 January 2011 the city welcomed 13,000 new residents. On 1 April the city had exactly 496,745 residents, according to figures from Statistics Netherlands.
The Hague is not the only Dutch city that is growing in population. The study shows that 27 of the 31 large cities in the Netherlands grew in population over the last couple of years. In particular, the population of The Hague, Amsterdam and Rotterdam increased substantially.
