No need to despair if you've got a particular food allergy. You may be able to find what you need in The Hague.
You can find an overview of lactose-free and gluten-free products on the website of the Dutch supermarket chain Albert Heijn. The supermarket uses easily recognisable pictograms to describe their own brand products. These supermarkets can be found all over The Hague and throughout the country.
Health food stores and reform shops have been growing enormously in popularity over the last few years. As specialised shops they sell organic food products and they can inform you about their products in detail. You can also do a search for either health food stores (reformwinkels) or organic food shops (biologische winkels). Also be sure to check out the Wednesday farmer's market in the city centre.
Vegetarian, vegan and organic lunch cafes and restaurants seem to be popping up all over the place in The Hague and a number of bakeries specialise in gluen-free, lactose-free and even nut-free baked goods (sweet and savoury), like The Welsh Bakestone and Mijn Cake.
More information is available on the website of the Netherlands Nutrition Centre (Voedingscentrum) in Dutch. Contact information for dietitians can be found via Vind een Diëtist and Natuur Diëtisten Nederland.
