The Instituto Cervantes, the official Spanish Government Cultural Centre, is a public institution founded in 1991 to promote Spanish language teaching and knowledge of the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries throughout the world. It is the largest worldwide Spanish teaching organization with more than 50 branch offices on four continents.
The Instituto Cervantes in the Netherlands is located in Utrecht and offers a wide range of Spanish courses. It also has a variety of cultural activities to complement the courses. Students at the Instituto Cervantes have free access to cultural activities: Spanish and Latin American films, talks, lectures, exhibitions, seminars and concerts.
The Instituto Cervantes together with the Hispanic Society of The Hague will offer Spanish courses in The Hague on Monday evenings at Zandvlietcollege (Bezuidenhoutseweg 40) and on Wednesday evenings at Aloysius College (Oostduinlaan 50). Students with some knowledge of Spanish need to take a placement test in early September.
