Accommodation for students

Usually the educational institute will furnish you with information about student housing prior to your arrival. A number of the schools of higher education also have bulletin boards where advertisements for rooms to let are posted. It is also an idea to peruse the bulletin boards at the neighborhood supermarkets.

For information about all-inclusive, furnished student housing, click on the website of DUWO and Staedion. The Dutch-language marketplaces for student rooms are Kamernet.nl and Easy Kamer (info also in English). Vestia also provides student accommodations in The Hague. You could also try to do a search on the Dutch website Marktplaats.nl under 'Woningen, Huur, Zuid-Holland, Den Haag'.

Young people and students can also visit the English-language website ‘Ik Zit Hier’ for all kinds of information about finding living space in The Hague and rental contracts.

Ever considered being a guardian for a vacant building?

In various neighbourhoods of The Hague there are houses and other buildings that will be torn down within a few years. Many of these homes are already vacant although they are still in a reasonable condition.

Are you between the age of 18 and 27 years? And are you living, working or studying in the Haaglanden area? Then you are eligible for a ‘househopping’ home. The average rent of these homes is between €200 and €250 per month and is never more than € 326.

• Spacious houses in reasonable condition and easy to reach.
• Per house a rental contract for a minimum of six months but often for two years.
