Art gallery De Twee Pauwen was founded in 1989 by Hanneke Besseling and Piet Bogaards. The first ten years, exhibitions were held on Anna Paulownastraat. Since 2000 the gallery is housed in the centre of The Hague, on the corner of Noordeinde and Oranjestraat.

De Twee Pauwen Art Gallery presents high quality contemporary figurative fine art with an emphasis on artists who use their technical skills to create their own visionary world. The gallery represents a range of distinguished Dutch painters and sculptors as well as renowned artists from Russia, Belarus, France and Belgium.
