The historical cemetery Ter Navolging in Scheveningen was founded in 1780 when Abraham Perrenot took the initiative to construct a cemetery in Scheveningen’s dunes. He did this to set an example so that the unhygienic tradition of building cemeteries besides churches in city centres would stop.
Nowadays, buildings surround the historic cemetery. The cemetery lies on the corner of the Scheveningseweg, the Hoge Prince Willemstraat and the Duinstraat, right across from the Appel Theatre.
Specialities: Betje Wolff (author), Aagje Deken (author) and Groen van Prinsterer (politician) are buried in this cemetery.
