The Bunker Museum in The Hague displays a wide range of historic objects and memorabilia from the Second World War in a real German bunker from 1943.

The museum is run by a team of volunteer bunker enthusiasts who for more than 20 years have been researching German defence works from the Second World War (mainly in The Hague and Scheveningen) as well as the events leading up to, during and following the occupation of the Netherlands.

The Haagse Bunker Ploeg has been involved in researching and excavating bunkers, often concealed under metres of sand, in order to preserve them for future generations. Sometimes the volunteers find interesting objects which tell us about the bunker’s purpose or the everyday life of the soldiers who lived there.

The bunker in the FAST surfers village was excavated and opened in May 2009. Volunteers will be on hand to show you around the bunker and answer all your questions.
