The volunteer organisation ACCESS, a not-for-profit organisation committed to supporting the international expatriate community in the Netherlands, has been named Expat Service Provider of the Year. The Expat Awards were presented during the official awards ceremony at Nyenrode Business University on 23 March.
The service organisation, located in The Hague and Amsterdam, has been working for 24 years in the Netherlands on behalf of expats. In The Hague, ACCESS works closely together with the Xpat Desk in The Hague City Hall.
A jury chaired by Desirée van Gorp, head of the International Department at Nyenrode Business University, said that ACCESS provided extremely valuable services to expats and other internationals in the Netherlands. The jury also praised the organisation’s altruistic work.
Carol Wooley, director of ACCESS The Hague, said she was honoured by the award. ‘This splendid prize goes to all the volunteers at ACCESS who have worked on behalf of the international community in the Netherlands over the past 24 years.’
Deputy Mayor Frits Huffnagel (City Marketing and International Affairs) was also pleased with the prize. ‘ACCESS is a highly valued partner in The Hague in terms of taking care of the city’s expats. This is a national recognition that together we are doing things right in The Hague.’
Other Expat Award winners were Sueli Brodin (Expat of the Year) and Optiver (Expat Employer of the Year).
