Ingenieursbureau Den Haag (IbDH) is the design and engineering office for both the municipality and the city of The Hague. The strength of IbDH lies in the sustainable design of public space, both above and below ground.
The 250 staff members at IbDH have The Hague’s best interest at heart, which provides added value to (construction) projects. The bureau also serves as a knowledge centre for the Municipality of The Hague. The staff brings the needed know-how and expertise required by a large municipality for public squares, parks, streets, bridges and canals. This goes beyond technology alone.
IbDH has various specialist disciplines for project implementation, from initiative to realisation and management. There are specialised departments for Design (Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Traffic & Transport and Environment), Engineering (Landscape Engineering, Urban Systems, Civil Engineering and Construction) and Project Management.
IbDH works directly and indirectly for residents, local businesses and municipal clients. This makes working at IbDH practical and varied. All of the specialist disciplines are involved during the design, technical preparation and project implementation phases, for example in the following projects:
