ANWB

With car trouble, you can always use the road service (wegenwachtservice) of the ANWB. More than 1,000 mechanics of the ANWB are present on all the important motorways and are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In case of an emergency, you can enlist the help of the ANWB via the yellow emergency telephones along the motorway or via the free telephone number for the Wegenwacht® in the Netherlands: 088 269 28 88. You can recognise the ANWB by its yellow cars. In almost all cases the mechanics will get you back on the road at once. Membership of the ANWB offers a number of perks. Unfortunately, this information is available in Dutch only.

Route Mobiel

Alternatively you can choose to become a member of Route Mobiel, a competitor to the ANWB. Route Mobiel claims to be the fastest and cheapest road service in the Netherlands and promises to arrive within 30 minutes of your call, 24 hours a day, seven days a week anywhere in the Netherlands, including your town of residence. Check the website for prices and membership information. You can reach them via the free telephone number 0800 0504.
