All building sites on one website

Published: 08 November 2011 Modified: 08 November 2011

The Municipality of The Hague has pinpointed all of the city’s construction and development sites on one comprehensive digital map: www.ikbouwindenhaag.nl.

Invitation to develop and build in The Hague

The municipality is looking for investors, developers, corporations, builders and end-users who are considering investing in new building projects on greenfield land or redeveloping existing properties.

The new website provides a good overview of the areas under development in The Hague.

  • undeveloped greenfield land (braakliggende terreinen)
  • property owned by the Municipality of The Hague which can be redeveloped (vastgoed van de gemeente Den Haag)
  • vacant office buildings (leegstaande kantoren)

The vacant or soon-to-be office buildings do not necessarily belong to the municipality but are being slated for reuse. All the various locations found on the digital map vary from a few hundred square metres to more than 10,000 square metres. Currently a large number of sites are featured, ranging from an empty office building in Scheveningen to a large undeveloped terrain by the Laakhaven.

The website is meant to provide market players with an extra service because property developers are badly needed at the moment.

Where can you find these locations?

All of the available locations can be found on one map. By clicking on one of the three choices on the page (braakliggende terreinen, vastgoed van de gemeente Den Haag, leegstaande kantoren), you will get an overview of these locations.  Each location is accompanied by details about the size of the site or a building’s floor area, when the location is available and where you can go for more information including the details of the relevant contact person at the municipality.

More information (in Dutch) can be found at www.ikbouwindenhaag.nl.
