Deputy Mayor Marjolein de Jong is The Hague's alderman for Culture, City Centre and International Affairs as well as the City Centre district.
Marjolein de Jong was born in Emmen (Drenthe) in 1959. She has had a long career in tourism and the restaurant and catering industry, which took her to Limburg, Spain and back to the Netherlands.
Marjolein has been living in The Hague since 1999 and has been a member of The Hague Municipal Council since 2002. In 2005 she became leader of the D66 party in the Municipal Council.
