Binnenstad Express & Beach Express

Are you going to The Hague’s city centre or to Scheveningen Beach on a Sunday? Avoid traffic and save money on parking garages by parking at P+R Hoornwijck. From the P+R you can take the Binnenstad Express or the Sunday Beach Express.

Directly next to P+R (‘Park & Ride’) Hoornwijck are the Binnenstad Express (Tram 15) and the Beach Express (Tram 5). They will transport you swiftly to The Hague’s city centre or Scheveningen Beach.

Binnenstad Express

The Binnenstad Express departs to the city centre every 13 minutes. The last tram from the city centre to Hoornwijck departs at around 0.30 hrs.

A ticket for the Binnenstad Express is valid for four people and you can park your car the whole day for free at the Park & Ride if you show your tram ticket. A ticket purchased in the evening (after 17.00 hrs.) and in the weekend costs € 2. A ticket purchased between 7.00 and 17.00 hrs. on Monday to Friday costs € 4. The return trip is valid on all HTM tram and bus lines.

Beach Express

During the beach season, from April to September, the Beach Express (Strand Express) brings passengers to Scheveningen Beach every Sunday. This tram travels directly to Scheveningen in about 30 minutes.

Pilot project

P+R Hoornwijck is a pilot project from the Municipality of The Hague together with the HTM and the Stichting Marketing Haagse Binnenstad. In addition to commuters the park and ride facility is meant for visitors to The Hague from neighbouring municipalities as well as residents of the new housing developments in The Hague (Ypenburg and Leidschenveen).

A total of 420 parking spaces are available. If the pilot project proves to be a success, it could be expanded to 850 parking spaces. The parking area is well-lit at night for your safety.

Directions

You can follow signs to P+R Hoornwijck from the Ypenburg interchange.

From the A4 take Exit 9 (Ypenburg/Rijswijk-centrum), then turn right in the direction of The Hague and then again an immediate right. You’ll find P+R Hoornwijck on your right.

From the A13 from Rotterdam use Exit 7 (Rijswijk/Den Haag-Zuid), then from the Laan van Delfvliet make a right on the Laan van Hoornwijck. You’ll find P+R Hoornwijck on your right.
